With all the broadband network provides already gained a firm foothold on the industry, it looks like Dish Network also wants a piece of the pie, in which the company has duly announced their latest satellite broadband service, dubbed as the dishNET. Forged between ViaSat and Hughes, dishNET will be offered nationwide starting October the 1st next month.
And as for the price, you’ll get 5Mbps download and 1Mbps upload for $40 a month, and this particular package will have a 10GB data cap. Also, if you pick up their satellite TV package together, you’ll get a $10 discount on the monthly subscription fee. Generally, dishNET is aimed at targeting consumers in rural areas that are underserved with fixed line setup – thus beaming data to the nearest satellite makes great economic sense right? Surely, if your area has poor broadband connectivity or reception, perhaps beaming data through satellites might help?
