RIM Sells BlackBerry Playbook on Massive Sale
Tuesday, 10 January 2012
We all know that Research in Motion isn’t performing well for the past year, whereby their global market share for the smartphone market is on a declining trend, and RIM’s latest smartphones just lack the ‘WOW’ factor. And judging by the fact that RIM has invested heavily on their BlackBerry Playbook, in which the tablet PC also failed to meet up to market expectations, it seems that RIM has been left without much choice – either make a heavy loss or sell the existing Playbooks at a discounted price.

Apparently, North Americans can now save to up to a whopping $400 on the Playbook and the offer stands till February the 4th. After the revising the price, buyers can now get the Playbook via RIM’s web store for just $299 – the same price for all 3 units, namely 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB. With such a crazy pricing scheme, I’m left to wonder – who would ever choose the smaller storage capacities when one could opt for the 64GB of just $299?
