Monday, 26 September 2011
When you’re the top 500 companies in the United States, it’s highly likely that you’ll be sued for various patent infringing offences, as clearly, if you can’t win over your competitors, just sue them at the court of law. Surely, we’ve seen a fair share of gigantic patent lawsuits between the conglomerate firms in the United States, and apparently, Google has recently taken the stance to protect themselves, simply by buying up more patents from their competitors, ie IBM.

The latest news that is surrounding the blogosphere indicates that Google has recently purchased 1,023 IPs from IBM, which were added to their patent warchest. The patents cover everything from filling holes on imprinted wiring boards, to methods for file system management. Surely, buying these IPs from the big boys is far better from being sued in the future, right?

Wednesday, 14 September 2011
With so many smartphone manufacturers opting for microprocessors that are manufactured other than Intel, the microprocessor giant wants a piece of the smartphone market, badly. With Intel giving so much talk about the viability of using their microprocessors for smartphones, but have yet to give anything concrete for smartphone manufacturers to work on, the newly revealed Atom E6xx series is set to change the mainstream perception.

Generally, the Atom E6xx series can be touted as Intel’s initial step in jumping into the smartphone market. Basically, the Atom E6xx series will be tailored towards the Android 2.3 operating system. Also, Intel has specifically highlighted that the processor might be available in as early as January 2012. Still, I don’t think smartphones can run on these large microprocessors that sap energy from the system.

Trade Show Booths PDF Print E-mail
Saturday, 10 September 2011
A month ago, I attended a furniture expo that was organized in the vicinity, and I can say that the organizers did a fabulous job in decorating the entire trade show area, in which they have cleverly blended the furniture with its surroundings. On the other hand, the advertisers also did well in accessorizing their trade show booths, whereby they have incorporated an appropriate theme on their trade show booths, which gives a rather warm and welcoming feeling to their targeted prospects. Also, the advertisers have resourcefully placed huge banner stands around their trade show booths, in which the banner stand supports a gigantic banner, which magnifies the advertiser’s visibility tremendously. And to top the notch higher, some advertisers also use custom table skirts on their presentation tables too, which is a great addition to their display.

Generally, most advertisers would use the pipe and drape system when setting up their trade show booths. Apparently, the Pipe and Drape system is the easiest way to setup a trade show booth, in which several interconnecting pipes would form the backbone of the display, and custom drapes would be placed on the pipes in order to give the display area a rather presentable outlook. Also, the pipe and drape system is easy to dismantle too, which saves the advertiser precious time when packing up their trade show booths.

Galaxy Tab 7.7 Disappears from IFA PDF Print E-mail
Monday, 05 September 2011
Samsung surely did a great job in creating the Galaxy-series, as this particular tablet is definitely the second best seller, right after Apple’s infamous iPad. However, it seems that the Galaxy Tab 7.7 has hit a snag just recently, and the snag was somewhat apparent at the IFA, in which the Samsung pulled out the Galaxy Tab 7.7 from their display, and noted that the action was rather voluntary.

According to insider’s sources, it seems that Samsung is having an impending legal battle with Apple for their tablets, and the Galaxy Tab 10.1 is the casualty, in which the respective tablet is barred from sale in Germany. And just like the Galaxy Tab 10.1, I guess that the Galaxy Tab 7.7 will be suffering from the same fate, up until the legal battle between the two juggernauts can be amicably solved. Samsung, however, refused to comment on these allegations.
