Motorola Announces Q4 2011 Earnings
Friday, 27 January 2012
If you are wondering how Motorola is performing for Q4 last year, we’ll I got to tell you that they didn’t do pretty well. According to the earnings report released by Motorola, the company made a net revenue of $3.4 billion for that particular quarter, and $80 million net loss. Basically, the $80 million net loss is a huge swing from the previous year’s earnings, which was $80 million in positive earnings.

Generally, Motorola shipped 10.5 million mobile devices in total for Q4 2011, and 5.3 million consist of smartphones. And as for mobile phone shipments for the entire year, Motorola fared 42.4 million phones, with 18.7 million of the sum, which consist of smartphones. I presume that Motorola’s downfall might be resulted from their somewhat failed tablet business, as the sales figure generated from their tablet business is somewhat questionable.

Eye-Fi CEO Slams SD Association Wireless SD Card Standard
Saturday, 21 January 2012
Well, when you found something rather invaluable, it’s always profitable to copy this particular technology and turn it to become your own standard. And when it comes to wireless SD card standards, it seems that Eye-Fi CEO isn’t too pleased with SD Association’s move to churn out their own standards, in which Yuval Koren claimed that SD Association has infringed his IP.

Koren further elaborated that his company has invested millions into developing the technology and that he has spent several years in the wireless SD card development process, and he’s calling for SD Association to license their current standards to Eye-Fi’s tech, or scrape their current development and rewrite it using something else. Personally, I do believe that you should respect people’s IP, after all, we won’t have wireless SD technology if without Yuval Koren’s initial research.

Invoice Service
Saturday, 21 January 2012
Having at least 5 years of experience in the retail industry, I can testify that invoicing is extremely important, as the respective document records vital transaction details. Of course, invoicing has moved from conventional paper-based invoices to a rather advanced invoicing system in the 21st century, as business enterprises have adopted computer systems and software technology that help reduce paperwork, while enhancing data accuracy at the end of the process. Generally, invoices now are generated by computers, in which a preset Invoice Template would be automatically filled with relevant details of the transaction. Computer generated invoices are more detailed and accurate, and it is easier to issue these invoices too. Since everything is automated, the sales representative just needs to specify the types of products or services that were sold to the customer, and the system can even calculate the total for the respective transaction at lightning speed. To my knowledge, there are several Invoice Service providers that have extended their services online, but personally, I would recommend you to pick a service provider that has an extended track record in delivering such services to their clients. On the other hand, you should also pick an invoice service that can produce professionally-designed invoices, runs on an excellent service infrastructure, and such services must be readily accessible at any given time of the day too. Also, make sure you pick an invoicing service that prices their services affordably – you wouldn’t want to pay an arm and a leg for such services right? Additionally, some invoicing services allow prospective clients to try out their services for free for a limited time – I truly believe that the free trial offer can help you establish on whether the respective invoicing service can meet your expectations or not. Well, it pays to shop around for the best invoicing service, don’t you agree?
